The Escambia County Green Party will show the documentary "Sweating for a T-Shirt" at the Pensacola Public Library on July 14th at 7pm |
|
This is the story of Arlen Benjamin's travels to Honduras to observe first hand the conditions of the workers who actually make the t-shirts and sweatshirts for college students like herself here in the United States. Her narration deftly responds to a number of myths about life in poor countries: workers make less because it's so much cheaper to live, more jobs equal more prosperity, etc. Several women workers share powerful descriptions of their living and working conditions. Produced by Global Exchange, San Francisco. |

There's so much stuff going on now. You'd think we were in a big city or something. |
