This was in the PNJ. I had to post it. |
Here is the speech I would like to hear from Mr. Bush:
"It is with deep sorrow that I speak to you during this time of international
mourning. To date, 110,000 people have died in forty countries as a result of
the earthquake and tsunamis in Asia. Millions more could die from disease, lack
of clean water, food, and shelter.
Last night I had an epiphany: I realized that, with so much death and
destruction caused by natural disasters, the United States should not add to
global suffering by continuing its war in Iraq. Therefore, I've decided to
cease all hostilities there and to relinquish authority to the United Nations,
which will send negotiators to assist the Shiite, Sunni, and Kurdish factions in
holding elections and rebuilding their country.
With your mandate, I will re-direct the billions spent monthly on the war to
relief efforts in Asia. I pray that our enemies will understand our good will
and stop their violence. I believe that, without the pretext of our occupation,
they will have little support from the majority of Iraqis."
A girl can dream.
