November 1st (The night before the election)
End of the Line Cafe will present the
5th Annual POETS IN PROTEST
This event, a yearly event since 1999, is designed as an open mike specifically designed for dissident poetry, music, film, art, etc. Besides many local poets and musicians that plan to play that night, there will also be a slide show performance, and at least two film screenings. The first will be "Hijacking Catastrophe", a scathing indictment of the Bush adminstrations use of the tragedy of 9/11 to further their own despotic aims for Iraq. The other, which will be the close out the night is Michael Moore's 9/11 film, which for those who haven't seen it (if there is anyone who hasn't seen it), might be a good thing to watch the night before the election. There will also be a few short films which will be shown and, of course, poetry. This is an open mike, so anyone who wants to say something, feel free.
